Maps & Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

GIS is a global digital mapping system that we use to record the location of all infrastructure and assets, above and below ground, in the City and its watersheds. Mapped features are linked to database information used to identify, characterize and maintain the City's assets, as well as make decisions about future investments.

We don't expose much of our infrastructure information to the internet but at the Engineering Office on Locust St you can have full access to our GIS system, an enormous number of scanned engineering plans and engineers on staff to help you find what you need.

If you need enterprise GIS data in the form of shapefiles or a file geodatabase please contact the DPW's GIS Coordinator to work out details.
