The Parks Division, as a part of the Streets Division, maintains about 120 acres of recreational playing fields, Musante Beach Recreational Facility and 2.6 miles of bicycle paths within the City of Northampton.

Responsibilities include grass cutting, litter pick-up, irrigation maintenance, marking and maintenance of fields and field houses, rebuilding and repairing ball fields, maintaining parking areas and fences at the fields, and setting-up safety village.

This unit coordinates with the Recreation Department and School Department for baseball, softball and soccer schedules, safety village, and modifications requested for the refurbishing of parks and playground areas. Northampton's parks and recreational areas receive extensive use, which requires that a great deal of attention be given to maintaining these facilities.
