Recycling
Northampton accepts recyclables at the Locust Street Transfer Station. Bulky materials and difficult to manage wastes are accepted at the Glendale Road Transfer Station only.
Holiday Schedule
All facilities are closed on major holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
2012-2013 Vehicle Permits
Vehicle permits required for access to Northampton’s two residential drop-off centers are available from attendants at each facility as well as the DPW office (8:30-4:00 Monday-Friday).
This permit costs $25 for residential vehicles, $5 for a second vehicle from the same household. Income–eligible residents may receive a discount (of up to $60 per fiscal year) through the DPW office. Permits for non-resident caregivers can also be obtained at the DPW office.
