The Mayor's Office of Economic Development was instituted by Mayor Mary Clare Higgins to create a greater presence for business development and economic development within City government. The Economic Development Coordinator works closely with the Mayor, City Council, and City Departments to create a supportive business environment, promote business development, promote workforce development and job creation, provide business assistance, and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth in Northampton.
