Community meeting
A working group of Northampton residents is organizing a second general public forum as a follow up to a similar event held at the Florence civic center January, which had an attendance of 25 people. The hope for the event is to encourage community conversation and involvement. It will take place at Jackson Street School at 6pm, Tuesday, April 29th. The event will last until 9pm and will consist of group discussions and a one hour period near the end of the event for participants to address the audience as a whole. Information about different non-profits and community organizations will be available at the event. Food will also be provided. The General Public Forum will be an open public event, and people are encouraged to come to have an opportunity to speak and meet fellow city residents.
The event is being sponsored by Northampton city councilor at large Michael Bardsley and the Pioneer Valley Guildhouse (an unofficial unincorporated group) with volunteer help and organizational advice from various non-profits, and local community organizers. The following is a list of the constituents of the Pioneer Valley Guildhouse; Jesus Leyva
(Northampton resident), Kenny Jean-Babets (Amherst resident), Rafi Kurts (Amherst resident).
