Eligible Dependents

Wife, husband, widow, widower, mother, father and any person who stood in the relationship of a parent to such veteran for five (5) years next, preceding the commencement of his (veteran's) wartime service.

Not Considered a Veteran

Active service in the armed forces, as used in Chapter 4, Section 7, clause 43 - shall not include active duly for training in the Army National Guard, Air National Guard or as a reservist in the armed forces of the United States.

Graves Registration and Care

The City of Northampton's Veterans' Agent serves as the Graves officer.

In cities and towns where there are cemeteries containing the remains of deceased veterans, such cities and towns shall cause to be placed on such veteran's graves a flag of the United Stales on every MEMORIAL DAY.

Veterans Service Agent

A city or town which has a population of 12,000 or more people must employ on a full-time basis a Veterans' Service Agent.

Burial Agent

The City of Northampton's Veterans' Agent serves as the city Burial Agent to provide burial to any veteran who dies without funds so that they may have a dignified funeral.
