* A grave site is not reserved

* No charge for grave or grave liner

* Usually, the funeral director makes arrangements with VA cemetery representative:

Discharge must indicate under conditions other than honorable. Verification for eligibility is usually accomplished between the funeral director and superintendent of the VA cemetery in two (2) work days.

* If the spouse or dependent child pre-deceases the veteran, the burial is authorized upon request, on
a statement signed by the veteran indicating that he/she elects to be buried in the same cemetery.
Superintendent of the VA cemetery is responsible for providing the agreement form having it
properly executed.

* To facilitate arranging an internment, in a national cemetery, should be made now in a statement of
wishes (will, etc.) and this statement placed among other important documents that will be immediately
available to the survivors.

* For the purpose of burial in a VA cemetery, a minor child is a person who is unmarried and; under the
age of 21 years, after attaining the age 21 years and until completion of education or training (but
not after attaining the age of 23 years) is pursuing a course of instruction at an approved educational
institution.

* V.A. Grave Markers: All honorably discharged veteran' and men or women who served in the National
Guard over twenty (20) years are entitled to a grave marker. Family members may be required to pay
the cemeteries installation charges. Installation charges are figured by the cemetery personnel.
