Immigrants to Northampton Share Experiences

Six Northampton residents discuss their experiences as new immigrants at the “New Americans in Northampton” panel. Sponsored by the Northampton Human Rights Commission. One of the community events featured as part of 2007 On The Same Page city-wide reading project. Immigration is a main theme of The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, the book that is being read for the project.

The Daley & Halligan Bicentennial Commemoration event series recalls the unjust hanging of two Irish men in Northampton on June 5, 1806. In commemoration of Daley and Halligan, let us affirm our commitment to creating and sustaining a community whose legacy will be justice, fairness and the protection of the rights of all citizens.
