Free Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

Sun., Jun 1 Valley Community Development Corporation (Valley CDC), a community-based non-profit organization, is now offering foreclosure prevention counseling. This free one-on-one counseling is available to homeowners throughout Hampshire County. There are no income restrictions. These services are funded by a state budget allocation from the MA Division of Banks through the MA Department of Housing and Community Development.

According to Michele Morris, Homeownership Director for Valley CDC, "Foreclosure prevention includes extensive counseling around debt management and budgeting. We evaluate the homeowner's loan and explore all viable options, including negotiations directly with the lender for loan modification, refinancing with other lenders, or selling the property."
