Wed., Mar 5 Mayor Mary Clare Higgins welcomes Cecilia Appianim of Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union in Ghana, Africa and Niki Lagos of Divine Chocolates, Inc. on Valentine’s Day in Northampton. Northampton is working towards "Fair Trade Town" designation. The three shared Fair Trade Chocolate produced by Divine Chocolates, Inc. using fairly traded cocoa grown by the Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union and Fair Trade roses sold by Northampton's own Flowers A La Carte in Thorne's Marketplace, the first independently owned florist in the U.S.A to sell Fair Trade roses!
