Young At Heart's Tour of France
Fri., Nov 30 Northampton's quirky and internationally acclaimed senior singers are set to travel to France on a three week tour, their first in that country. They have previously visited other nations, including Germany, England, the Netherlands, Norway, Australia, and most recently, Ireland.
The Young @ Heart in their show, Road to Nowhere staged by No Theater, will tour in France for three weeks. They will begin in the Loire Valley for the very first season of the Theatre Le Quai in Angers. Then they will travel East, with a rest in Reims, and on to Alsace to perform in the venerable Theatre National de Strasbourg. Performance details are listed below.
Young at Heart has a CD available called "Mostly Live" because it includes 3 songs recorded in the studio and many more live recordings.
Friends of the chorus, local band the Stuntmen, also appear on the first run limited edition DVD: Back to Back. In 2004 at the historic Academy of Music in Northampton Massachusetts two different generations of rockers came together for unique night of original music. The Young @ Heart Chorus and Drunk Stuntmen along with a six piece horn section performed original Stuntmen songs to a sold out crowd. The concert footage starts out with the Stuntmen rocking through a few songs and then bringing out the world famous Young @ Heart. The performance goes from great to unbelievable. This is a must have for anyone who appreciates music. There's nothing else like it anywhere!
The Chorus was also the subject of a documentary film produced for British television and recently acquired by Fox Searchlight for distribution in the States.
Bravo, Young @ Heart, and Bon Voyage!
