Planning and Development Mission

Identify and implement the community's vision for economic prosperity, a strong community, and a environmental health:

• Comprehensive and strategic planning to guide growth, conserve natural and built resources, and provide for multi-modal transportation, open space, and recreation.

• Community development, including housing, community services, historic preservation, brownfield redevelopment, and sense of place.

• Assist in efforts to retain and grow Northampton businesses through policies, regulatory reform, incentives, and infrastructure.

• Geographic Information System and data base development to support planning related information needs.

• Integrated implementation of planning, community development, and economic development activities including administration of the U.S. HUD Community Development Block Grant and Homeless Continuum of Care programs, numerous competitive grants, and City funds.
