Public Construction Reform Act

In 2004, the legislature enacted Chapter 193 of the Acts of 2004, "An Act Further Regulating Public Construction In The Commonwealth", making significant reforms in the way public buildings are constructed in Massachusetts.

The new Northampton Police Station will be among the first public facilities constructed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the new guidelines and procedures set forth in the new reform law.

Among the Police Station Building Committee's early tasks was a careful review of the new law to ensure that all of its procedures and actions will be made in full compliance with the 2004 public construction reforms.
