Adult Tennis Programs

The Northampton Recreation Department is a nationally recognized Tennis Welcome Center. Welcome Centers specialize in fast track programs designed to have beginners playing quickly.
We follow three basic principals:
*Learn to play tennis fast
*Get a good workout
*Meet new people and have a great time

The Recreation Department offers tennis leagues and lessons for both adults and children.

Northampton Recreation received the United States Tennis Association's Award for New England BEST PARK AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION for the year 2010!

Group lessons begin in May, with sessions running through the end of September.

Class Descriptions
Tennis 1-2-3: Beginner class focusing on the basic strokes required when beginning to play the game.

Round Robin Doubles: 1.5 hours of round robin play. Doubles is emphasized but some singles may be played.

Intermediate Tennis Drills: A fast paced workout with lots of drills and games. Play situations, footwork, and strategy are stressed.

Classes missed due to weather will be made up on Fridays.

League Jamboree
The Jamboree is for players who want to play in the league but have not done so in the past. It allows us to see these people play and helps us properly place them, by ability, in the league. New players should be prepared to play for an hour.

Raindate: Sunday, May 12: 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
