The Northampton Youth Commission is a group of young people between the ages of 13 - 18 who are interested in working to improve the lives of young people in the community by discussing issues of concern and working to provide solutions.
This fall the Northampton Youth Commission recognized a need for a youth center serving middle school students in Northampton. To raise funds for this cause the youth commission is throwing a benefit concert. The Main Event Befit concert is “for youth, by youth”. That is that the concert has been planed by, staffed by and created by youth from the musicians to the audience. Each band was hand picked out of a pool of applicants by the Youth Commission.
Three bands “Bullseye”, “Nor Whale” and “Stand up Get down” are playing the event; all are composed of local student musicians.

This year's Youth Commission is currently working on a concert for January. The MAIN EVENT is benefit concert for a new Northampton teen center.

Meetings regarding the planning and development of this concert are held in the Hearing Room at 6pm every Thursday.
