Overview:
There are 232 retail businesses within Downtown Northampton compared with approximately 74 stores in Amherst and 82 in Easthampton. The estimates for Amherst and Easthampton are based on a walk through of their downtowns.

The boundaries of Downtown Northampton are:

North: King Street and Trumbull Road
West: State Street and Main Street
East: Hawley Street and Market Street
South: Pleasant Street and Hockanum Road

 Inventory Adjustments

The 2017 inventory total of 232 represents an adjustment from 220 stores in 2016. The addition of 12 stores includes 2 new stores, 3 Pleasant Street stores and 7 second floor retailers.
