Observing the Night Sky WINTER 2023

Program Details

Explore the night sky this Winter! Learn to identify major constellations and enjoy views of Jupiter, Mars, the Moon and other astronomical objects through a large telescope.  The course will run once a week as weather allows until 4 weeks of observing sessions have been made possible by clear skies and temperatures above 25 degrees. No background knowledge necessary, but a curiosity for the night sky is a must.

This class will be limited to a small number of participants.

If you have a participant under 18, the instructor will be in touch with you regarding participant expectations.** 

For: Ages 6 and older
Days: Monday evenings * 
* Classes are planned for Monday Evenings, however it may change due to the weather and viewing visibility. If Monday isn't the best possibility, the Instructor will try the next consecutive weekday.

Times: Session 1: 6:30pm-7:00pm OR Session 2: 7:00pm-7:30pm
Dates: Starting January 16 and complete after 4 weeks of observing sessions (weather dependent to determine exact dates).
Fee: $40, non-residents add $10 (for participants under 18yrs old, the cost is $20 with a participating adult)
Location: Arcanum Field, North Maple Street, Florence
