Public Works is responsible for the City’s sewer/wastewater collection and treatment. Sewer collection infrastructure is generally made up of sewer mains, sewer manholes, and pump stations. Wastewater treatment infrastructure includes a modern treatment facility providing primary and secondary treatment. On-site septic systems are overseen by the City’s Health Department.
In addition to providing emergency response to broken or blocked sewer lines, routine system maintenance includes inspection of manholes and mains with in-pipe video, odor and rodent control, and approval of private connections to the public sewers.
