About the Community Garden

The Community Garden is located on Burts Pit Road, just beyond the old State Hospital. It is under the auspices of the Northampton Parks & Recreation Department and managed by a hardworking, super awesome Garden Committee.

  • There are seven acres of land dedicated to Community Garden.
  • The site is improved with a tool shed, fencing, shrub hedges, a composting area and running water.
  • There are about 420 plots measuring 20 feet by 20 feet.
  • Registration for new gardeners is usually held in mid-March.
  • The Garden is managed and maintained completely by gardeners.
