 Northampton Policing Review Commission:

A Joint Special Commission of the Mayor and City CounciL

We are in a critical moment as a city and a nation that calls for profound structural change and we must work together to identify and enact necessary reforms with deliberate speed and lasting impact.

The Mayor and City Council are seeking Northampton residents to serve on the Northampton Policing Commission, a joint commission to conduct a public policy review and community conversation about policing and community safety, and recommend reforms to Northampton’s current system of policing.

Residents of Northampton with a demonstrated interest, experience, or expertise in the issues under review, especially Black, Indigenous, People of Color, or people from other historically marginalized communities who have been targeted and harmed by U.S. policing practices, are encouraged to submit a letter of interest.

Letters of interest can be sent by mail, email, or by other arrangement by August 14, 2020. Access to remote meeting technology is available, if needed.
