2026 Ski Information

For JFK Middle School students Grades 6 - 8

We have opened a second bus!  Please sign up now to reserve your spot on it!  

This popular program offers a fantastic downhill ski and snowboarding opportunity to youth in grades 6 - 8 at a reasonable price. Participants will enjoy up to three hours of skiing or snowboarding on Wednesday afternoons starting in January for four consecutive weeks. 

The program is held at Berkshire East Ski Resort. Berkshire East offers 52 diverse trails which both accommodate beginners and can challenge expert skiers. 18 trails are lit for night skiing.

Motor Coach Buses will depart from JFK Middle School after school and return at 8:15pm.

Ski Dates

  • 4 Weeks on Wednesdays after school
    • January 7 - January 28, 2026
    • Make up days February February 11 and 25.

Fees

  • Basic Package: $270

    • *Includes Lift Pass, Transportation, & Supervision

  • Additional Costs *As Needed*

    • Ski/Snowboard Rentals:$78
      • Now includes Helmet
    • Ski/Snowboard Lessons: $63
      • lessons only available for first-time, beginner and advanced beginner level this year.  No lesson option for intermediate or advanced level students.

  • For Season Pass Holders of Berkshire East (reduces base package price by $122)

    Option 1: Register in the office (complete form here) to qualify and pay for the Season Pass Holder price. Office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Option 2: Register through our online registration system, pay the full Basic Package fee and be reimbursed later by the Office to reflect the Season Pass Holder price.

Important information while Registering

  • When you register please know your child's skill level. This program is recommended for those who already have prior skiing/snowboarding experience.
    • Skill Level : First time, Beginner Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced

  • Registering for Rentals?
    • Be prepared to supply child's height, weight, shoe size and binding release method.

Chaperones Ski/Snowboard for FREE!

Chaperones are asked to commit to all six dates (four scheduled and make ups included). If you have chaperoned in the past you will be given priority.

There will be a chaperone meeting, date and time December 17, 2025 at 5:30pm at the Parks & Rec office.

  • For Middle School Students from JFK

    • Students can store Ski/Snowboarding gear in the Community Room at JFK. 
    • Coach buses will depart approximately at 3:20pm from J.F.K. Middle School
    • All students return to J.F.K. at by 8:30pm each date

  • Make-ups

    • Will happen if we have inclement weather and the dates are added at the end of the program
    • If needed the make-up will take place, February 4 and 11.
    • No make-ups during the Northampton Public School February Vacation.
    • Participants ski/board in buddy systems within our group and skill level & wear identifying neon bands for safety

  • Transportation/Food

    • Coach busses with restrooms are used for transportation. Backpacks etc. may be left onboard during the program
    • Skiers may bring food from home or purchase food at at the Ski Lodge
    • Food may be eaten on the coach bus; however, food may not be taken on Bus from the Ski Lodge

  • Helmets  

    • *Berkshire East does not require helmets but they are STRONGLY recommended* 
    • Helmets are NOW included in Berkshire East rental package!

  • Information Required for Participation

    • Please provide the appropriate information while registering or contact the office
    • Complete rental waiver form (must be a signature of a parent/guardian) *Will be provided to all who rent after registration*
    • Berkshire East will not be able to rent equipment to any participants who have not submitted their information at time of registration.

  • Lessons

    • Lessons take place shortly after arrival and are group lessons which last one hour  
    • Lessons will be from 4:50-5:50pm

Ski Cancellations, Delays

All ski registrations must be canceled by November 21, 2025 to qualify for a refund, less the $10 service charge.
