The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) requires the City of Northampton Department of Public Works (DPW) to develop a Water Service Line Inventory to identify lead service lines on both public and private water services. Lead can enter the drinking water supply of a home or business through corrosion of old service line pipes. Please participate in this program as described in the flyer below to identify if you have a lead water service line in your home or business. If you prefer, the DPW can complete a free in-home/business survey for you.
