[ARCHIVED] Snow Emergency Declared on 11/15 at 5:00 PM. Citywide Night Parking Ban in effect until canceled!

The City of Northampton has declared a Snow Emergency, effective November 15, 2018 at 5:00 PM. It remains in effect until canceled and may last more than one night. 

During a snow emergency, parking on all City streets and in City parking lots is prohibited from 12:01 AM to 6:00 AM, except on Main Street, where parking is prohibited from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Those found in violation of the parking ban will be ticketed and towed. Parking is allowed during other hours. 

The Armory Street parking lot is open for overnight use during snow emergencies, except from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to allow for plowing. 

The City also posts all snow emergencies and parking bans to its Facebook (City of Northampton) and Twitter (@NorthamptonMA) accounts.  Alerts are also prominently displayed on the 

www.northamptonma.gov website at the top of the page.

City Ordinance 285-17 requires property owners to clear all sidewalks adjacent to their property within 24 hours after a snowstorm, including the curb cut to the street. Failure to do so may result in a $50 fine.
