CITY OF NORTHAMPTON - Candidate Request Form for Nomination Papers

Northampton City Charter, Article VIII, Sec. 8-7: "Except as otherwise expressly provided by Northampton City Charter and authorized by law, all city elections shall be governed by the laws of the commonwealth relating to the right to vote, the registration of voters, the nomination of candidates, voting places, the conduct of preliminary, regular and special city elections, the submission of charters, charter amendments and other propositions to the voters, the counting of votes, the recounting of votes and the determination of results."

  9. The Registrar of Voters will certify the total number of signatures needed for the candidate to be placed on the ballot plus 10%. Each page holds 50 signatures.

  10. CANDIDATE COMMITTEE INFORMATION

    If you plan to accept donations, including in-kind contributions, you must file a CPF 101: Statement of Organization prior to receiving any contributions. A link to the form can be found on the Candidates for Nomination Information page. Please specify how you will be organizing your campaign by uploading your CPF 101 form or checking either box acknowledging that you will not be forming a committee or that your committee organization statement is already on file.

    Nomination papers are signed by the city clerk in her capacity as a Notary Public. To facilitate this step, please provide proper identification.

  15. Scan or image of photo identification. We accept State, Federal, or School ID. We do not accept selfies!
